Hi all,

Hoping to get rid of my massive steering wheel, I'm not too fussed about the way it looks but it's quite annoying because all of the external rubber on the wheel has come away from the internal metal so it is a bit loose and moves a little, really frustrating!

I have seen a wheel from a Golf Corrado VR6, does anyone know if this will go on??

I have seen a useful thread Click Me! But the photobucket pictures are messed up and I'm quite confused about the guide without the pictures.

Somebody please help, it's 1am and I should be asleep but instead I'm worrying about steering wheels! :(:)

mornin george, its fairly straight forward really pard. you need to go to a breakers and take off a mk2 golf steering wheel and also the little adaptor the sits on the steering column under the steering wheel.

failing that pm the guy who did the thread. T:

i had the same problem on my 95 t4 mate, i didnt bother with goin down scrappy to get adaptor cos there a bloody nightmare to get off, i went to TPS in Poole ( www.thetradepartsspecialists.co.uk ) and bought the adaptor for bout £8 brand new. then went to scrappy and got an old MK2 golf steering wheel to fit on. only problem doin this is the indicator will not self cancel as the adaptor bring the self cancelling tab away from where it should be, the pre 96 boss kits do the same thing. but ive gotten used to it now. lovely having smaller steering wheel!! our normal splines are 17mm but the adaptor makes it 27mm.

oh and make sure you clean up and put a little lube on your spline before putting the adaptor on otherwise you get it half on then wont get it on any further and will struggle to get it off again..... (speakin from experience) lol!

Hope this helps!

Cheers for the advice guys, Did you consider chopping the mount down like the guy in the link I posted did as he says he has use of his self cancelling indicators still...

Hornydanbrad, do you have a part number or anything that I can use to order the part?
