Just booked two weeks off at the end of august for our first proper holiday in the camper, currently planning to go direct from suffolk to lands end and then work our way back along the south coast, would really appreciate any suggestions for nice or interesting places/campsites anyone has visited that way on there travels?

Polly (Porth) Joke is an awesome little beach well off the beaten track - no bogs, ice creams, nothing! just clean water, caves and sand - sometimes picks up a bit of surf too. This campsite is closest to the beach http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=1718 - up the cliff path and over the headland to the Bowgie Pub :D

This gaff - http://www.seadownholidaypark.co.uk/ has the cleanest toilet block I've ever seen and is a short walk down the river to the Jurassic coast - kids (and adults) can find shed loads of fossils on the beach - great fun. :D

I'm sure I could think of more but if you're coming all that way - if the weather's ok I: stay in the South West! :D

Couple of places I've used.

Porth Beach Tourist Park (www.porthbeach.co.uk). Great site, xlent facilities and a pub over the road. Close enough to Newquay if you want to party but far enough away for some peace & quiet.

Roselands Caravan & Camping Park (www.roselands.co.uk). Great little site just a couple of miles from Land's End.

If you fancy the King Arthur Experience here in Tintagel try Headland Caravan Park (www.headlandcaravanpark.co.uk). Some sloping pitches but it's in the centre of the village.

Hope these help.
