Help! I have just bought a 2001 T4 SWB an it has standard R15 wheels. I want to replace these with alloys but need to do it on a budget ie used and probably of ebay. I have seen audi alloys + others 16" which i could go for but,....

Q1: how do i now they will fit?

Q2: have seen a set from an audi a3 reported to suite T25 T2 campers, would this follow that they will also be good for a T4?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi m8,

There are a few basic things you need to look out for.

A T4 has a PCD of 5 x 112 (number of studs and spacing)

The centre bore is 57mm (spigots can be used if you purchase wheels with a larger centre bore)

Most are running et's (the offset = how far in or out the wheel sits in relation to the hub) of between 35 & 45.

You need to make sure that the wheels are rated highly enough to hold the weight of a T4.

You need to make sure that the tyres are load rated also.

This site shows what the standard manufacturers dimensions are http://www.carlsalter.com/wheel_fitments.html

If in doubt......ask ;)

Hi Chris,

And thanks for the info. Blonde question, how do i find the rating of the alloy?

On a completely different topic, when driving i hear a tic,tic sound coming from the drivers side, probably three times a minute. But not when its idling, not loud but enough to become irritating. Have you come across this and is it a characteristic or something i can fix?

Nice van by the way.

Regards

Iain
