i have a 97 syncro t4 which has the 2.4 aab engine .does anybody know if the 2.5 tdi engine will match the existing gearbox as i want to keep the 4wd system but with a bit more power.

Yes it will fit as the bolt pattern is the same,the 2.5 block is essentially derived from a 2.4
