Hi All.

My beloved 2002 1.9 has got a wobbly crank shaft, throwing out the timing.
I was trying to find a replacement van but to no Avail. So now I’m considering a replacement engine.

Question;

she is up to LEZ current and future standards, but what happens when I change the engine out for (inevitably) an older 1.9 that might not be compliant?

do they know? Do I tell them?

No ones going to know if you dont tell them and i personally wouldnt, whats the worst that could happen.
I wonder what is different that would make the later engine lez compliant, wouldnt the bare engine be the same? maybe the cat which you will still have and maybe the ecu map and injectors? which you could keep.
