Hi, wondering if anyone could diagnose or point me in the right direction on this one.
I have a 2000 1.9td and the almost all the time it drives lovely but recently it seems to be having a good loss of power in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to when it happens ie. cold mornings, when it's up to temperature, inclines...etc. Just seems to be random.
I've had the van for around 13000 miles now and serviced it the other day and like I said 9 times out 10 it's fine but this problem is starting to get a little bit irritating.
If anyone could give us a nudge in the right direction that'd be massively appreciated.
Thanks
John

I also have done the egr blank but this was around 7 or 8 months ago. Just thought I'd share that in case it makes any difference or could be part of the problem

ok, random problems are a pain, sounds like a fueling problem - faulty filter, split line? have you told the garage that serviced it?

to get the best from the 1.9TD..
1. you need to change the fuel filter with a proper VW one as per service schedule
2. check your accelerator cable - if it has a "damper" these can stick - get it removed
3. is cable stretched, or frayed and jamming?

worth doing the tuning mod T:

this stuff is magic :)

The accelerator cable has been sticking for a while so I'd presume that has something to do with it. Got one ordered up, fingers crossed it sorts the problem.
Thanks for your help
