Apologies for re-posting this from the Engine Section of this forum - but I'm getting desparate!

I have a 2001; T4; 2.5TDi; LWB campervan conversion that needs a complete accelerator pedal assembly (the electronic sort) as the original has failed and needs replacing. My local garage have tested the brake light switch and the wiring loom and these are fine so its definitely the pedal.

AA Patrol found the following fault code/s:System : Engine control 1 - 73K / Diesel EDC 15VM+2V467F - Pedal position sensors 1/2. Error Message : Signal improbable. So he took the unit apart and cleaned the contacts. No change.

I am told that VW stopped manufacturing this part along with many others in July 2019 (be aware T4 owners!). Understandably, my garage would like to fit a new one rather than go down the second-hand route which cannot be guaranteed. I've been 'phoning and searching for a new one and tried many T4 parts specialists without any luck. I have tracked down a s/hand one though. If anyone knows where I could get a new one off the shelf I would be delighted to hear from you!
Thanks.
JD

I had mine go a few months ago and found two companies on ebay in eastern Europe - it is HELLA brand and brand new, cost me £80 but you have to change the pedal as it is from a left hand drive they could also supply RH drive version (the only difference is the pedal but it would have been £120 plus postage. I apologise for not being able to give you clearer details but my computer completely died shortly after this and all of my old correspondence has been lost. The company came under 'spareparts4cars' if it helps.
Best of luck

Thanks for your help and for the link which is proving hard to find strangely enough. You don't by chance have the Hella part number? Is it just a question of removing the left hand pedal and replacing it with the ri/hand one from the old unit and it works OK? Sorry to be a pain but I'm going round in ever decreasing circles with this!

I have a RHD TDI pedal that I bought for a potential TDI conversion years ago but decided to turbo my 2.4 instead. You can have it for what I paid for it - £30 if you like.

It's from an automatic so has a small kickdown switch at the end of its travel but apparently works with manual gearboxes no problem.

Okay, so the part number is 7D2 723 507 H
Other markings say 'Diesel AG HLO' and a date code of 02 22/01. Assuming 22nd week of 2001 manufacture.

The H suffix says it's for the ACV,AJT,AUF,AYY & AYC diesel engines with automatic gearbox. The pedal and module is very clean.

If you don't fancy it then it's no problem. It's not taking up much room on my spare parts shelf!

rc_tech thanks for your help. I’ve managed to get the correct part number from VW and managed to find one from a local breakers. In the meantime another part number for the same thing has emerged from a parts manufacturer/supplier! I can’t get on to it this W/end so hopefully early next week will see me back on the road. I’ll let you and everyone know once the storm has passed!
