Hi!!

I was wondering if anyone could help me out.. I lost 1st and 2nd gear due to gear linkage piece snapping.. got a temp repair done with some cooling hose and cable ties. I since ordered the broken pieces from ebay and am awaiting their arrival. I was wondering how much I should expect to be charged by a mechanic (south) to fit the parts? and if I drive around on my temp repair, could I risk loosing all my gears?

Yes you could end up with not being able to select any gears.

How much it depends on what has gone.

Thank you , much appreciated I think it was just part number 41 that snapped but it might be a bit of a faff to put in.

Although one diagram says its part no 41 and another says its 47. Confusing

Ok if it is the outer ball under the saddle you might be lucky as it is only 2 bolts to undo and you might be able to press it on in place. But be aware that the one on the other side might not be healthy.

Year of van does effect which image and what numbers as there was a change.
