LGV

  • Currently - £180
  • 2009-10 - £185
  • 2010-11 - £200
All EU1, EU2, EU3 T4's and EU3 T5's (registered up to March 2006 - 55 Reg)

LGV EU4

  • Currently - £120
  • 2009-10 - £125
  • 2010-11 - £125
All EU4 T5 Transporters/Shuttles registered prior to March 2006 - 55 reg - and all LGV's registered since March 2006 - 06 reg whether they are EU4 or not.

For Car Tax purposes the above lists are published CO2 and country cycle fuel economy figures that are deisgned to simulate normal driving as close as possible.

These figures, initially published in 1996 (six years before they had to), are derived from data collected during Type Approval test cycles on unladen vehicles (EU regulation 93/116/EG), so they have little or no value in the "real world" - they are used merely as reference points to compare with other vehicles.

This data applies to M1 type passenger vehicles (which includes all heavy passenger cars which fall into the N1-111 group - until September 2009, when they revert to class M1 (!)) along with Caravelles, Multivans, Multivans with elevating roof and Transporter Window Vans that are not classed as Light Duty Goods Vehicles for Car Tax Purposes, yet they are for LEZ purposes.

Fuel consumption figures for N1-11 and N1-111 Transporter Panel Vans are shown in italics (tested at a constant 90km/h at half payload) and are for comparison purposes only.

Published values were updated again for 2000, which are shown in brackets that replace the 1996 figures.

A special note for Motor Caravan owners:

Despite most Motor Caravan conversions having a CO2 figure given by the factory they are taxed as PLG, because there are too many variations for European Type Approval rules to embrace. Naturally, it would be prudent for owners with LGV based conversions to stay with the LGV rate (particularly certain EU4 T5 owners!).
