Haha as above. You don't go and buy a VR6 because of the MPG!
You get it for what it is. Just get it if you've got one available. I have a feeling you won't regret it dude. T:

got one mate its a 99 multivan 60k miles and it does 20-22. doesnt vary too much betwwen town and long runs and even towwing Eriba. was thinkking of lpg which I had on last RV but dont really do the miles to be honest best vehicle i've ever hadT:

Isn't the VR6 a bit strangled and makes a lot less power than the golf version,
but the V6 has a lot more power?

The v6 is about 204 bhp

The vr6 makes about150ish bhp

So I'm led to beleive

Fair play you were pretty close!, I wonder what it takes to get it to golf power, ECU? injectors?

i gotta be honest, get a 2.5 and upgrade it, the vr6 are heavy mpg, the 2.5 is a stronger engine, if the auto box plays up, which they do, it' ll cost u big bucks, go 2.5 be cheaper to repair etc, or ge a 1.9 t5 and remap it, or a 2.5 t5 and go silly mapping and fly along, my mates got a sportline remapped, bloody thing fliesA:
