I've been asking this question for a while. If the van (I'm assuming it's a Transporter, not a Caravelle) is on it's original springs, they'll be quite hard. It's a commercial vehicle and VW expected you to put a ton of stuff in the back, so the springs are very hard. Apparently the H&R springs give a nicer ride, and lower the van by 40mm. I'm not sure you want to lower it though, just improve the ride?! You'd need to ask or search further to see if there are softer 'normal height' springs available, I'm not aware of any (And I don't know if Caravelle ones are more refined). Sorry, keep searching!
