T5 BNZ NO START

Hi All, Back on the drive after two months away..so its engine has been rebuilt but now would start, turns over fine by hand /and starter .... so where next to look , cam sensor has been changed. can't hear the fuel pump is there a way to test run the pump using VCDS ? HELP PLEASE

It's funny as I'm now in the same boat as you as I have an intermittant problem with my g28 sensor. I find mine only goes wrong when under full throttle and does flag up a fault but the engine still keeps going. I think it must be a problem with the sensor and is breaking down as it doesn't matter if it hot or cold. It was the other night that the engine back fired as the fuelling gets cut and then re instated that it must have fuelled differently. I also randomly get a misfire but again it must be the sensor....all I know is it's around 900 ohms

  1. hi,, looking like its "take it apart"..3.7 BTDC looks a bit close. and now the wiper motor has come out in sympathy , last night my dream was to read "no faults found"

hi all, so spent the day checking the cam timing ..everything looked fine but still have it wrong in some way as its showing a torsion value of -6.9 .. funny thing is once you get the turbo spooled up it pulls like a train. starts from cold ok and revs freely, when warm take a while to catch and flat on the revs. Anyway unless someone has the magic answer its take it apart again..

Hi All, Finally found my problem of having the cam gear half a tooth out from the mark.five cylinder 2.5 BNZ ...drum roll..you need to line up the gear train with the crank at TDC ,lock the crank into the block, fit the head mashing the intermediate using a eccentric shaft then line the cam gear with the top on the head lock the cam shaft then bolt the cam onto the camshaft, remove all the locks turn the engine over twice to check ..job done. ..

Next job is electrical.
