Hi, I'm new & found this forum when looking for owner feedback.
We have a 2006 2.5 130 Autosleeper camper on a T5 Trooper chassis. I use it daily & love driving it-mostly short trips.

Reason for the question is that on a run once we are up to 70 with 'van-type' acceleration it will cruise all day @ 200-rpm. However, when fully laden with loads of camping gear on board acceleration is noticeably slower. In France, our usual destination, we like to cruise at 80 & we're up to 2300-2500rpm.

I'm not technical or all that interested in speed as such, but I do like to get from A to B fairly quickly. It would be great to hear from anyone who's done the remap & the 'consequences'-better acceleration, better mpg (when driven gently!)-any problems with reliability etc.

Thanks,

Roger

Had my 130 remapped to 170 and it was quite a big different, you really notice it in the lower gears but it does make it drink a bit more. Full tank around town about 350 - 400 miles but I have got a heavy foot. I:

Thanks Manx66,
I see it as a bit of a challenge to drive as 'gently' as I can tho' I do get a bit ratty with camper syndrome from other drivers-camper=slow so I'll pull out in front, overtake in me Ka & generally drive like a berk!. I'm gonna use 'Jabbasport' near us so maybe I need some 'I maybe a camper but I'm not slow!' stickers!
I generally change up at 2000rpm when not in a hurry & I can cruise at 70 at those revs-do you find your 70 cruise is at less than this?
Pleased to hear from my insurance company all I need do is inform them & probably no additional premium.

Roger,

We have tuned 100's of these Transporters from customers all over the UK, every single one of our customers is happy and have had no problems what so ever.

We know these engine control units like the back of our hand and have done 100's of hours testing to make sure the software we write in works and carries on working.

With us you will have a reliable tuned vehicle running 100% perfectly, yes other tuning companies can claim to get more hp from them that us, but we have been tuning these far longer than majority of these here today gone tomorrow companies.

We custom tune each and every vehicle, we never use generically tuned files on any vehicles as each vehicle reacts differently to one another.

Anymore technical info you need please ask.

Kind Regards
Martin
