I've done a number of searches and I'm clearly missing a trick here...
I have fitted adaptor harnesses to my 08 T5 which now wears T5.1 headlights with H7 bulbs. VW Transporter T5 To T5.1 T6 Facelift Headlight Adapter Harness Upgrade | eBay
Whilst I can get all of the lights to work, when I select dipped beam (normal lights) the flash option does not work for high beam.
I can select high beam by pushing the stalk forward and if I drop the switch to side lights or off the flash option works.
As difficult as it is doing this on my own during the day, I think I can see that the dipped beam and high beam are in the same lamp.
Would this be by design to stop the lamp filaments from overheating? That doesn't quite make sense if that's the case but I'm clutching at straws with that one.
During the van build, I've also changed the stalks to include cruise control using the correct VAG stalk, it is wired as per instruction. VOLKSWAGEN TRANSPORTER T5 - CRUISE CONTROL KIT - COMPLETE - GENUINE VW - NEW | eBay
I'm a little confused as to why the high beam won't flash when on dipped beam. Can you give me any advice as to whether I need to make any wiring modifications?
I'm happy to strip the steering cowling back and recheck my wiring if needs be - it's the fact it works on the off/sidelight function that's baking my brain.
If it's a case of programming it as the advert suggests, I've enabled cruise control as per the instructions but there was no other advice with the kit.
