Help Please.

2006 1.9 T5 T30 LWB remaped to 130 BHP 5 speed gear box.

Today while slowing down for lights and trying to select 1st gear nothing happened, it was like it was in netural.

Then it wouldn't select 3rd either and again felt like netural.

All other gears work fine and some times 3rd will and some times 1st will but not as often.

There are no nasty noises or any thing.

When selecting 1st and 3rd the gear stick feels like nothing is happening if you know what I mean.

Ant ideas please?? All advice is welcome.

Is the box gone or do the linkage cables need adjusting???

Is cable adjustement something I can do myself???

Had a similar problem on a T5, it was a case of adjusting the cable.
remove the plastics from under the gear stick and its pretty self explanatory

I had this a while back, its probably worn splines on the bracket on top of the gearbox.
This is the bracket thet the selector cables connect to.
It might just need tightning but its probably worn and needs replacing. Fairly cheap 40 euro ish, and you can do it yourself.
