i have volkswagen corrado clocks fitted in my t4 by old owner the rev counter just goes straight in to the red when running is there a fix or should i just wire in a separate tach

thanks ill give it a read should probs say i have a 1996 2.4d aab caravelle it was petrol but old owner did a engine swap

chances are the corrado cluster worked with the petrol engine, the diesel transplant will not be able to supply a suitable trigger for the tacometer.

petrol use either the ecu or the ignition coil signal and NON-tdi diesel t4's use the alternator's 'W' terminal to supply a diferent waveform signal & need a diferent tacometer (rare but do pop up for sale)

tdi t4's use ecu to trigger the ecu so you cannot use this option

thanks for the info had a feeling that would be the case everything else works so i can live with that
any recommendations on an after market one i can use to check a few things out
