Hi guys how can i tell if my dmf if failing. at the moment i get i kind of clunk when clutch is engaged changing gear and the same sound on release??? my local mech says it may be the dmf he is going to change the gear box oil on tues to see if its clean .Although it was up on the ramp the clunk is not as noticeable in the rain! I have checked for the engine mount wear but they seem fine. Any ideas?? Thanks.....

It would be more likely your taking the free play up on worn drive shaft gearbox coupling, that gives the same clunk but usually only when taking up "drive" from standstill. When the flywheel is on its way out there is usually more "chatter" at tickover.

Definately sounding like intermediate driveshaft on the way out. DMF is pretty unmistakable when it decides it's had enough. I'd book in and get your offside inner driveshaft and gearbox shaft inspected/ changed before you lose drive.
