Well after being inspired by Battlebus trailer build, the need for some extra room, 5 kids and only one LWB T4....
In true N/W area tradition for the unusal....
I give you 'The Pod'.............

Bought just before my summer holidays..

Then whilst enjoying a 2 week break me and Whooshwhoosh did this, country styleee..

Health and safety at its finest....

Chop cut rebuild....

Ta Daaaaaaaaaaa

Its now taken up residence in my carport.....

Glass 'de painted'

Great for storage..

Bodywork stripped and dent removal commenced..

It's certainly a lot lower now......

Watch this space!!!!!!

Right then, couple of piccy's....
Dragged the pod out into the garden to get stuck in...set myself a target of bus-types to finish it

Found a bit of tin worm at the back...

reinforced the inner sill and plated up the outside..

its all hidden behind the bumper so spotted it in place, seam sealed it ready for a coating of underseal...

inside..

Then moved into the organised workshop for some leg fettling....

A place for everything and everything in its place....I:

and in situ....

inbetween breaking various tools ive got some more filler on it...waiting for my compressor from work to run my new DA sander...And once whoosh finishes welding his sieve up i can get my mig back and weld the stablisier legs on and schultz the underneath...

Bit more filling...

then i did this!!!

mmmmmmmmmmm

used this handy tool returned from whoosh..

And went and made a mess............

Luckily i had already made a pair of these beauties....

And stuck em in!!

Wrapped a strap round the pod to hold em in place until tomorrow....

Just needs last few skims of filler then a disc off all over ready for some primer...
Its far from perfect but 100% better than it was when i got it!!!

Technical hitch with the compressor rendered me sanderless so ive migged on the rear legs, just jockey wheel to mount up then it'll be stable, winds getting up tonight so hopeing the 'spray booth' is still there tomorrow....:*

I'll either be back to leccy sander or full on Air Da'ing tomorrow...
Wife's away all next week with the kids so hoping to be in paint for weekend then ill have a week of peace to do the inside... got a few pics to update later...
