Just started completely striping down my 2.5TD Engine, and would like to know what to do about the two timing belts, is there anything i can do to make re-timing it easier once I've rebuilt it. Any bolts, shims special tools needed? There must be something on here covering this but the search functions not working for me.
Any help/photos would be much appreciated.

Nope, nothing you can do.

Just use the proper cam plate to re time and the rest is just marks.

stop dont listen to anyone
you cannot just go by the marks
cambelt is normal
the pump belt cannot be set to a mark
the mark is for static guidance only and cannot be trusted
i did one today and it was 20 degrees out
and one yesterday was only 8 degrees out but the other direction

you start at the hidden marks then move gradually till it runs watch out for smoke lol
after this you have to plugin laptop and use vagcom tdi timing checker this will tell you how much to advance or rertard the pump
there is no other way so i suggest you stop now and get someone with experience to help you
