Hi every body ..I'm new to the forum and I was wondering what tire size can get for my 99 t4? I just got a set of Carlsson 2 pices wheels 19x8 and 19x10 and these fit really nice but the tires are way to big (245/40 and 255/40) I found lot of pictures and treads but don't have the information I need about sizes ...any help will be appreciate ..thanksT:

Good info for non standard wheel sizes HERE
If it's not dropped looks like the 245/40 should fit but the 255 should be a 35 profile. I'd be surprised if the 19x8 front will be a straightforward fit.
But hopefully you'll surprise me T:

What ET are you running on?

I have 255 x 35 on the rears and 235 x 40 on the fronts

My ET is 45 though - Less than this and it will be very tight on the front

My wheels are 19 x 8.5's

Not sure about 10" stance on the rear

I,m a bit confused by what you mean. Are you trying to reduce the tyres in width or in diameter?
To keep the same diameter as standard T4 running but reduce the width would require 235 x 40's or 255 x 35's

Below are the min / max recommended tyre size widths for your wheels without stretching.

8,0 Inches - MIN 215 mm, IDEAL-225 or 235 mm, MAX -245 mm

10,0 Inches - MIN 255mm, IDEAL -265 or 275 mm, MAX - 285 mm

Based on this you can only really go for 255 x 35 on the rears

On the front you could go for 225 x 45, 235 x 40 or 255 x 35

Hope this helps

T

PS , Go for the highest rating you can get for the tyre size. I think the most you can get 'off the shelf' are 96 for the 255, 98 for the 235 and 98 for the 225

Dont know what its like over there , but generally , its not that easy to get tyres with sufficient load rating in profiles below 45 , and be legal here , unless you dig deep in yr wallet ... the wider you go , the higher load rating you need ...

From what I can see on your profile ...I,d think more than twice about the alloys and tyre choices you are leaning to , on safety grounds ..... Read up on load ratings , etc. and check the VIN plate on your vehicle , before you go further ...
