I know the clue is in the name 'Trade Part Specialist'.

Got a windscreen motor fault and phoned my local one who I've used a number of times, but now they only deal with trade.

I liked using them in the past and many parts are actually cheaper than the rip off merchants that advertised on these sites.

I'm not sure who gains here, I'm not going to get a local garage or VW to fix simple issues, so it'll be a part from ebay probably.

Find your nearest VW Commercial dealers, get to know the guy in the parts department and he'll match TPS price if you ask nicelyT:
I've had quotes from TPS, popped into VW Birmingham ('cause it's easier to get to!) and with a little persuasion matched price no problem.

AFAIK it's up to the individual branch.

If you get "trade" then fine, if not tough.

How many "tradesmen/professionals" on here don't like the public buying at "trade" ?

Despite the new 'trade only from March' signs the one I use said 'don't worry you've spent enough here'.......
They're no longer interested in walk in customers who don't really know what they want/need or only want a washer, too time consuming for them.
You need the exact part numbers, get them wrong and you just end up with some extra spares!

Has anyone asked what's involved in setting up a Trade account?

In all probability it's not very hard, provided you don't try to set up a credit account.
