i need some advice please on tyres - not a strong point of mine. i'm running 225/50 17 ZR tyres which came on the van (T4) and will need changing soon. i dont know if these tyres are rated for vans or if they are just car tyres. how do i tell please? any advice regarding which type of tyre to buy would be appreciated. cheers.

Have a look on the outside of the tyre, and it will have all the data you need,

I just ordered some 245/45/18's on good advice. Good for the van weight and also the ride in general!

actually, sorry for being terminally thick where tyres are concerned but i'm still missing some info...

i've looked at the loadrating table from Jim Doodle (above) and as my van is an '03 888 i guess this line is relavent
Van 800 1996 - 2003 SWB 1250kg 1230kg 2480kg 92

so i need a load rating of at least 92, yes? ....but what speed rating do i need to be legal?

I'm looking for a commercial load rated tyre [ie...ok with the insurance company] that is 215 55 16 just don't seem to be able to find much.

Any help appreciated.
