I want to get a engine battery for my 1.9 diesel t4 (1983), but not sure which one is best?

I need a starter battery.

The leisure one, which excuse my ignorance is for the interior right? this also needs replacing, but not so urgently..

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

I've got a 1994 1.9d. Personally I'd get one with a longish warranty, I have a large Varta blue top at I think 90 or 95ah (amp hours) which has lasted 4 years and seems to still be going strong. I think it's about the largest you can get for the van. The extra power can give you more power for cranking if needs be- well that's the way I see it anyway! I don't think you particularly need anything special but I'd get a well know brand at least, check around online for car battery sites for a good deal.
