Hi everyone, I need your expertise again.
I took delivery today of some injectors I bought off ebay, they were advertised as AFN injectors. I sent the seller a message to double check they were from an AFN engine and he confirmed that they were.
Basically I bought them as I'm hoping they are the 110bhp injectors, and plan to fit them this evening to give my newly converted van abit more power.
Before I started ripping my engine apart I thought it best to double check the part numbers on the side of the injectors.

Part numbers are:

028 130 201 G ( 2FH KBEL 58P 87 190bar 470).........................x3

028 130 201 H ( 2FH KBEL 58P 88 190bar 765 C4)....................x1

Looking on google I can find no reference to the injectors being from an AFN engine, or any 110 bhp engine for that matter.

So do any of you engine gurus know if these are injectors are in fact 110bhp or 90bhp please?

Thanks in advance. Rob. T:

I've got a set of AFN injectors from an Audi at work, will take a look at the numbers on them today if I get a chance.

Hi Cowman. That would be great if you could please.

I believe the majority of AFN injectors have the following part numbers:

028 130 201 T (2FH KBEL 58 P 144 190Bar 866 G)
028 130 201 S (2FH KBEL 58P 142 190Bar 866 C4)

If you get a chance to see what part numbers are on the injectors you have that would be fantastic.
I was hoping to get my injectors fitted last night but I don't want to fit them to find out that they are not 110 bhp ones, and from what I can see they appear to more likely be 90 bhp ones!

Cheers for your help mate. T:

Okay mate, just had a look and the numbers I have are:
028 130 201T KBEL 58P 144 190Bar 962G
028 130 201S KBEL 58P 142 190Bar 963C4

I know these are AFN injectors as I removed them myself after checking for the engine code. I'm afraid I don't know whether yours would be 90 or 110 injectors. HTH.

81 kilowatts (110 PS; 109 bhp) @ 4,150 rpm; 235 newton metres (173 lbf·ft) @ 1,900 rpm — AFN, AHF, ASV, AVB, AVG

66 kilowatts (90 PS; 89 bhp) @ 3,750 rpm; 210 newton metres (155 lbf·ft) @ 1,900 rpm — AGR, AHH, ALE, ALH

I think you will find that the differences are mainly electronic ~ it's easy to tune these engines to more power without changing anything :ILU:

Thanks everyone for your help. I sent the injectors back for a refund and ordered up a new set. I was lucky enough to buy a refurbished set for £10 more than what I paid for the other set. It all worked out in the end. T:

Thanks again all. :)

Hang on mate ~ I don't think that's a matched set there ~ looks like 3x Stanadyne injectors with a Bosch needle lift ~ Rake ?

I've just gone and checked the part numbers etc, I have:

3x 028 130 201 T ( 2 FH KBEL 58 P 144 190bar 770 A )
1x 028 130 201 S ( 2 FH KBEL 58 P 142 190bar 770 C4 )

They all have the Bosch symbol on I believe. Is this correct, or are they the wrong ones?

Cheers. Rob.

They are Bosch not stanadyne.

I will run the PN's tomorrow and let you know.

Just out of interest, are you just looking to replace stock injectors or are you looking for an upgrade ?

They look ok to me. Though something looks awry with injector no.3 (w/NLS). Where do the leak off pipes go?

Don't forget your injector sealing washers!
I believe I have to reuse the fitting on the 3rd injector from the original injectors for the leak off pipe.
I'm hoping just to upgrade the standard injectors at the moment and then go with bigger nozzles and a mapping session in time.

Hi

Which injector goes into which cylinder? I understand that the first and fourth ones end in T.

Which cylinder does the one ending in S go in please?

Thank you.
