Quick questions, I'm replacing rear springs and shocks all round.

I'm gonna get the sach shocks and got some second hand springs.

I'm not sure what perishables u should replace. Do the rubber bits on the end of the shocks require replacement or do you get new ones with the shocks? And are there rubber bits under the spring that requires replacement?

Sorry for dumb questions but is rather have the bits I need when I do it.

Thanks.

You get rubber bushes with the front, but not with the rears. Don't cost much from TPS or VW, buy new lower bolts for the rears as you may well need to replace them ( approx 80p each ).

Have just done exactly what you are planning and I cannot believe the difference. I had changed all the shocks for Sachs HDs but was still using the old (make unknown) rear springs and doughnut bushes. On Saturday I fitted some used standard Caravelle springs (thanks Colese!) and new rubbers. It has been interesting to see the 2 stages of improvement - the shocks helped (have a look and see why!) but the springs and bushes have transformed the ride. Once I can afford them, I will fit some Vogtland -40mm springs and see what they are like.
