Hi Peeps

Just bought some 235x50x17 Audi Wheels for my 1998 T4 2.5d and just wondered what sort of tyre pressure they should have in them?

Thanks

Astley

I have 35psi in them at the moment, but my old 195x70x15 van wheels had 50psi in them, so really not sure.

I put 50psi in my 245 45 18 and the tyres are wearing perfectly evenly, wife's Sharan has 235 45 17s and the fully loaded pressures on the fuel flap for that are 51 rear and 55psi in the front.

40psi is not too bad, but you could try another 5psi and see how you get on I find if I go any higher than 55 then the ride tends to get a bit harsh but the van does seems to roll more easily with the higher pressure.

FAIR ENOUGH, have U compared axle weight too?? Otherwize it wouldn`t make much sense ;)

Besides, U MAY want to check what pressure rating the tyres have.
More informed people than myself (sorry U don`t come on here no more my Friend:( )have suggested to run tyres with a border line load rate right around the max permittable inflation pressure. I recon thats a valid argument T:

Running my 235/40/18s, full camper at 43psi. Ride and handling are good although only got a few
thousand miles so far but tyres look ok.

I have a sticker on the inside door jam which gives readings for a laden van and an unladen one. Currently riding it unladen with winter tyres 195/70/15. The pressures are 44 front and 38 rear giving slightly over in case of passengers.
