I'm probably aiming this more at what you did in your youth as most of us are older and wiser these days, not saying I haven't done a few questionable things to my current van which have since been removed! Being an ex boy racer and being part of the max power/fast and furious generation I have a considerable amount of dodgy mods under my belt plus a fair few acts of stupidity in my youth, some of my personal highlights.

Stupidity

First set of alloys, used wrong bolts, less then a mile down the road was watching my front wheel roll away down the road.
Fixed the loose wire on the rear heated screen with some sticky foil type material my mate gave me,worked for a couple of days the exploded and I mean exploded into thousands of pieces!
Top speed run in my first car on motorway, engine then cuts out,aa man says all the oil has leaked out, engine seized, bye bye first car.
First attempt at ice, wired an amp unaware of earthing, not long after amp starts to billow out smoke, luckily didn't set on fire before I could pull over.

Dodgy mods

Escort rs turbo 4" back box on a Peugeot 309,so loud you had to shout to anyone in the car for them to here you.
Evo 6 bonnet vent and spoiler on a cavalier, classy!
Quad 4" exhaust on a Vectra.
Touring car style sun visors, had a few of them.
Chopped springs,looked good,ride was let's say interesting!
Tights stretched over the rear lights, classic!

Probably got a load more but that'll do for the time being,so let's here your motoring history you'd rather forget?? LOL:

I ran a few escorts with zero 'minimal' ground clearance , beached one on a curb at 3am..completely stuck ,ran over an empty coke can and got it wedged in between the branches of the downpipe dragging it down the road for a good few yards ....

Chopping springs , fitting turbo exhaust systems to N/A cars , spray tint , dodgy graphics , 'flame offs' , drifting ....driving at 168mph

1st car was a brown  Mk1 metro, lowered it by letting fluid out the suspension, was ok till I smashed the gear box on a speed bump.

Owned a couple of Renault 5 GT turbos in the early '90s, hilarious cars to drive !
These cars have a seperate fan to cool the carb to prevent fuel perculation due to the very high under bonnet temps., the fuse kept blowing on one of the cars so I decided to roll up a piece of foil and stick that it as a temp stopgap while I sorted the problem .
Big mistake, I'm sure you can guess what happened......
Front end alight and melted the tarmac road , total write off - gutted :(
Wish I still had them, good ones fetching around £10k now

guess it sounded a little louder than the 'normal' worn drop-gear bearings as they whine a littleI:

I've owned a few proper Mini's, both base and Cooper/S over the years, I regret stupidly selling a MiniJem (in 1990 ish:( ) much funA:

anyway......

I've had a few mk1 & mk2 escort's / Sunbeam's & Avenger's / Chevette's / toyota Celica st's (proper 1970's ones) - if I knew now their valuse I'd have a barn full of older cars:*

also rallied (& crashed) so wasted a bit of cash there:eek:

Rewired the entire engine bay with one colour and gauge of wire I:

Had it lowered then found, could not drive anywhere as it kept grinding front.LOL:

Putting an Austin 1300 head on to a 850 mini.

When it was standard, in 3rd it would pull 70 in 3rd, with the big head it didn't really get going in 3rd till it was doing 60.

God knows what revs it was pulling, but there was a very loud "bang" about 1000 miles later.

Mind you that did better than one of my mates, he dropped an American truck supercharger on a Rover Sdi V8.

Then decided that wasn't enough so turned the pulley down so the blower spun faster.

That engine lasted precisely 20 minutes before exploding as he changed up from 4th to 5th at an indicated 140.
