Hi All,

have been putting silentcoat behind my panels (that were done before I bought the van), found this on the left hand side of the rear panel about lined up with the door.
Clearly it's disconnected but what is it (and should I reconnect it to something ?)

Whats the part number? I cant make it out past 7H0 ### ###

The wiring is aftermarket I reckon.

All panels back on now and the other pics I took don't show it any better so guess I'll just forget it. It has VW on it so assumed it was something standard but don't think I am 'missing' anything important.

Looks like the big rubber cover that goes over the hole where the electric sliding door mechanism goes (I assume on your van it comes out behind the sliding door rail).
Wiring is aftermarket, maybe for something like an external temperature sensor? You'd have to take the rail cover off to find out what's on the other side.

Ahhh ok, so the rubber bung is just to cover up a hole if you dont have an automatic door ? I'll have a judicious tug at the wires and see what happens next time the panel comes off.
