hi 8 ball,
sorry for hi jacking your thread 8-ball, but as us irish don't have our own classified section i just want to let the local people know that i have a set of seats for sale on the classifieds section, please guys go and have a look. i may also have a set of rear seats and some other bits next week as i am crossing over to the dark side on monday, if all goes to plan.
i have to agree with you 8-ball things are very quite over here. i was going to suggest all t4/t5 members get together for a camping weekend and to show off the vans, but i just realized it's going to be late september by the time i'm free, anyhow we should get together at some stage.

Sept be good for me. I've missed the last couple of meets. The van is getting there slowly but surely. I'd really like a chance to check out what others have done with theirs...a few beers would be no harm either!:D
How about a weekend in Doolin in co. Clare ( rockclimbing, surf and beers )? It's a laid back place, good pubs, good climbing, good waves........

well,
yesterday i took a spin to sligo to view a very nice 06 t5. advertised as a 174bhp but when i checked the service book it turned out to be a 130bhp. i said this to the sales man he said it must be chipped because the previous owner said it was 174? maybe it is. i took a drive and oh boy! does it feel fast! i totally covenced my self that i must buy it. so i did and i will be collecting it tomorrow. my beloved t4 is gone to a good home and i will have to make room for all the new t5 stuff that i am inevitably going to buy. so keep your eyes peeled for some t4 stuff in the classifieds. especially a really sweet caravelle seat, the single one that flips up to allow access to the rear. will put up pics in the next few days. oh by the way totally on for doolin in september. i never been to a vw meet so looking forward to it and checking out the other vans.

Are you at the Burren walk ?

I would have been around but will be in Carlow this weekend, clashing dates I'm afraid.

I'm based in Roscommon, but can regulary be found anywhere from Fanore or Carraroe in the West to Athlone in the east, Ennis in the South and Ballinrobe/Claremorris in the north. That's sort of the area i work in.

Van should be easy to spot now, since it has been fitted with logo's.

Living in Galway, but I love Doolin, heading there today for the weekend. In the process of making a bed and storage for my van. Gonna be very rough and ready compared to most of the builds on here.Would still be interested in meeting to see how others have done it. An irish classified session would be sweet.

Every van starts rough somewhere. I've nothing done to the interior yet, but then I've got the advantage, that it's a minibus, compared to a panel-van.

It's the effort that'll make it your own personal one :) Doesn't matter if others did it better/different/nicer.

fixed wireless, so it's like regular broadband but without the phone line.

As for driving on the left, it's not too bad, as I'm sitting higher than most others. Just if you're stuck behind a truck it's a real b****
