I've just upgraded my Beta stereo to a gamma unit ailmny due to an intermittent fault on the beat unit meaning that the right speaker didn't always work. probably a dry joint somwhere but i couldn't find it.

Any way the Gamma unit has a button called TIM and i was wondering what is did. haven't got the manual you see.

On a separate but related note. the gamma unit has these mini-ISO connectors which part of which i understand is for a cd changer, some is for telephone inputs and clock/display connections.

there's also this third bit which has COM FL FR RL RR and another one. This looks to me like a pre-out connection for an amp, which an autoleads PC3-11 cable will connect to.

Has anyone done this or know the voltage spec of it?

TIM is the little bloke who sits inside the unit listening to all the traffic reports that get broadcast on the RDS system by local stations. When you nudge him he tells you the latest one he's heard.
