I need to remove my sliding windows but want to try and keep the fixed window in. The idea being is that I'm DIY window tinting me Velle and have come to an end with the side windows that move. I can't seem to get behind the fixed glass to allow the tint to glue nicely to the moving window :(

Rear panel tinted but need window that slides to be tinted:

hi why dont you have those 2 professionaly tinted, and a clear protection film put on over the tint on the bit that is slid over to stop damage to the film, they did the clear film on my sons buses at his work and the guysaid that some ins co give reductions for having it done on all windows (exept screen) as glass will stay together if someone smashes it to try to get in and its scratch resistant, thats why its been fitted to their buses,

Hi chalkmyster

Sorry, I can't help you.

But you can help me, if you wish.

I'm just looking at tinting my vans windows.
My van is the same color as yours, and same LWB, glass (windows) all around.

Can I ask you what shade is that on the rear side windows I see in your picture? Is it limo-black or limo-tint?
I was thinking getting for the sliding doors some medium smoke 20%; and for the rear sides + rear window = limo black 5%.
Nothing on the front side doors.

What did you get for yours?

Have you got any tips for fitting them?
I see you have a problem with fitting the sliding windows, but did you manage to fit the others without removing the windows from the van?

Did you buy a big roll and cut it yourself, or you found a pre-cut kit?
I'm looking on ebay, but I did not see any pre-cut kits for T4.

Thanks.

Hi,

I used this tint (http://tinyurl.com/ye3yjxj) on the bay. Works really well and just had enough to do the whole Velle.

The fixed windows are easy to do, I just cut the film to sit 5mm away from the inside of the rubber. I watched loads of YouTube films, here is one of them:

A few things you will need:

Water sprayer with johnsons baby shampoo (the yellow stuff)
Stanley knief blades (scrap window and to cut film).

3 words of advice:

Clean and clean and clean the glass with stanley knief and spray solution.
Keep the area and tint wet (even sticky side).
Keep calm and dont panic (take your time).

I did my side windows last weekend. Decided to leave them in:

I will try and take the moving windows out when it gets warmer and do them again as they are s:*t .

Thanks for advice.

I just bought the roll right now, delivery tomorrow.
So this weekend I'll probably be fitting the tint.

How did you do it on the rear window, (which is a bit curved)?
Did you heatshrink the tint film?
Or the curvature is not so big and there are no creases on it?

Regards.
