Went to a campsite in north yorkshire dales. It was in a place called Mucker (think thats how u spell it). It doesn't get any quieter than that place, its a farmers field, toilets and showers and thats it. No hook up. There is a great pub 10 mins down the road, good food and good company. Worth checking out :)

There is a small campsite with good facilities in Reeth down by the bridge.
One on the side of the river in a farmers field just before you get to Low row, will accept anyone, vans, tents etc. Clean but small facilities up at farm house £10 a night for a family in a trailer tent. Access straight down to the river.
Another probable the one mentioned at a farm visitors center. We looked at all 3 and have stayed in the first 2 but the one in Reeth is getting more popular. The second one you just pitch and find the farmer later so get there early if you can.

Richie, sorry can't remeber the name of the site, but it's the only one in the village, we just asked at the pub and it was a 2 minute drive away. Have a great couple of days anyway, where ever you decide to go.:)

As you drive up the valley from reeth it is at the first bridge back over the Swale on the left.
Another option but a bit rougher is the TAN hill pub (highest in UK at the top of arkengarthdale. I think it cost a couple of quid to kip in the van in the car park ( about 6 vehicles when we went as a group) very exposed in bad weather. Good beer, food and breakfast and a barking land lady (pet sheep in the bar)
Map Best I can manage.

Have a great time.
