Re: Yorkshire : Disco Dave

Email sent.

I dunno what the meets are like over here, but the ones Gazhow used to arrange, we would go the beach, hit the front at fleetwood. We went Jodrell Bank. Generally meet up have a chat, some food and a brew, if we were at the beach some frisbee, kiting and even kayaking has been known.
Longboards come out to play and just have a bit of a socialise.

cheers

Re: Yorkshire : Disco Dave

meets are more regular through the winter months and we usually go to xscape as castleford in the coming months i'm going to arrange some different venues as although cass is central it's not great for everyone.

in the winter we meet up and usually end up in a pub followed by a meal or something to eat.

summer tends to be more difficult cos everyone seems to be busyer, but we'll try for a trip to the seaside or two, i'll be sorting out camping in feb again and a few more do s throughout the summer.

basically what ever you fancy is an option, sugestions are always welcome as a bit of variety is good for us all. I did wonder about ice skating in Bradford maybe followed by a curry? all suggestions welcome.

Don't do it mate not the ice skating anyway it seems to be a predatory arena for young lads picking up loose girls and parking is a joke in the city centre. :D The curries are the best in the country though.
Keighley is far better it has a bowling hall: http://www.amfbowling.co.uk/Centres/details.aspx?centreid=11 which is a 2 minute walk from A Toby carvery: http://www.toby-carvery.co.uk/find-a-toby/keighley.html
Which is also next to a travel lodge for anyone who wants to get slaughtered and stay overnight. There is also a fun-fair that comes every year which is literally across the road from the hotel in Victoria park. Their is also a "Posh" curry house 1 mile away in the centre of Keighley called " Shimla spice " : http://www.shimlaspice.co.uk/pages/branches.html
You are only 2 miles from the worth valley railway (Steam engine) which takes you up to Haworth village and Bronte country : http://www.haworth-village.org.uk/steam-trains/kwvr/kwvr-overview.asp
There is also a Keighley show : http://www.haworth-village.org.uk/events/haworth-events/more.asp?event=Keighley Show
So there is normally something to do most of the year.
As you can tell I am quite proud of the area around me. :D

Ice skating followed by a curry LOL:
Clearly a typo..... should read: Ice skating followed by a trip to casualty!!!!
Whatever happened to sitting on your in a pub. T:
Would be up for a bit of bowling tho.
I agree with ravedave about the time, sunday evenings are really the only time we are definately free for a regular meet. Obviously day trips with a bit of notice are a different thing.

Re: Yorkshire : Disco Dave

Hey, is anyone up for arranging something for bonfire night. maybe someone knows someone with some land or maybe a pub with a big carpark.

Depending on location/land owner we could have people cooking outside the vans. Id know id get a big pan of hotdogs on that anyone would be welcome to. Maybe someone fetches a big pan of chilli?

I know bonfires would be ruled out but clean wood contained fire pits maybe for the warmth and the effect maybe?

And if safe to do so, some fireworks.

Just an idea.
