Fitting bed to floor
As I plan on using seatbelts with the R&R bed I want to make sure I anchor it well!
Front rail
I have picked up on main cross member (hand brake, springs etc)
Image

Face the back door. From the centre of the van, measure 200mm to the left (You should be in line with a centre punch) drill pilot hole (5mm) From the pilot hole measure 520 mm to the right (this should line up with another centre punch then re-drill holes with 11mm.
Use the predrilled hole on bed frame, (nearer drivers side) and bolt through flood (hand tighten)
Level up bed and spot drill frame (right hand front) from under the van.

Move to back rail
I have picked up on the angle iron used for tow bar(passenger side) and floor (under spare wheel)

Image

From the back of the van, left hand side use the predrilled hole on bed frame, drill pilot hole then re-drill 11mm
MAKE SURE YOU DROP THE SPARE WHEEL FIRST
To your left measure ????? from centre of hole and mark. Mark each side of frame. Remove bed and drill pilot hole in centre. Re-drill 11mm. Replace bed and spot drill bed frame from under the van.
Remove bed turn over and drill spotted areas 11mm.
Done
Bolting up to follow

Boarding out the bed

I want to make the cushings/boards removable

Pics to follow

Materials
Marine ply (9mm)
1" x 1/4" Battern x 2
Tee Nuts (zink plated) 20 X M6 - 1/4"
Pan head Bolts 20 X M6 -
Nuts/washers X 20
Lock Tight
Wood glue
Varnish
Cutting fluid

Tools
Drill
3.5mm drill bit
7mm drill bit
8mm drill bit
Clamps
Set square
Socket

Boards cut to the following sizes (B&Q free cutting)

2@ x 1095 X 1@ x 1095 1@ x 1095

Drill frame (3.5mm) where you want to fix boards (make sure you don’t foul any parts when sliding in/out)

Image

Lay boards onto the flat bed and number. Line up and clamp each section. Drill from underside of frame and through boards.

Image

Remove boards and re drill board with 8mm. Re-drill frame with 7mm. Glue battens to underside (front edge) of both seats, clamp cut to length and leave to dry.
Image

Varnish underside of boards
Insert Tee nuts to board face up (use M6 nut & large washer from the other side and drive in until Tee nut is flush with washer). Screw bolts though tee nut (from top side) use lock tight on the last 10mm and tighten.

Check boards for fit
Varnish underside of boards
Time to go and get measured for foam
