What a great break - the Sidmouth folk festival, lots of singing and dancing. The run along the coast on the A35 was glorious in both directions. England at harvest time, rolling hills, views of the sea from time to time.
The van behaved impeccably, trundling up and down from parking at the cricket club to overnighting in the peace and quiet of a free spot out of town.
Despite the age the van starts first time of asking and once we'd covered the first few miles the cobwebs had been blown off, and probably out, it was tromping along happily. The only thing to do in the way of upkeep all week was top up the coolant, as despite the 'service' half done, there is still a loss somewhere. Not all that significant at the moment, but I do wish it had been found. Bit of a sword of Damocles.
The solar panels charged the batteries adequately even with one day of dark skies, so I was very happy.
The only slight hiccup was finding that the cool box no longer works so I removed it before I left and had no cream for my coffee - but I slid the loo into the space that made rather than having to pull it out from under the bed.
Happy days.
