Hi. I’m looking to buy a T5 campervan and have a question about seats and seatbelts. I need a van with at least 5 belted seats but lots of the nicest cabs on the market only have 4, with 2 in the rear bed/seat and single passenger seat in the front.
How easy/safe would it be to either have an additional lap belt added to the rock and roll bed? Or is it better to swap the single seat for a double- if we did this with a swivel single can we use a double swivel?

Many thanks

to the other part of your question - yes there are plenty of three seat R&R beds - either full width (with no furniture down the side), or with narrow side units. This still allows the walk through feature

If you only have small children and don't need as much width it shouldn't be hard to a get an extra lap belt fitted to a bench seat, but you're likely to be on your own regarding safety testing on the belt anchors.
However it would be reasonable as a temporary install in your own van (for the length of your ownership) whilst your children were small - If it's tested to hold (say) two 16 stone adults, it should be totally fine being used with three 8 stone kids etc.
Also, hundreds of non-tested beds are installed every year, and will do a reasonable job unless you get the ultimate head on crash.
