Diesel heating

I have a 2013 SWB T5 campervan with a pop-top roof, converted by Bilbo's Conversions.

At the time of the conversion I did not specify any form of heater but after a couple of weeks in a bitterly cold, wet and windy France I am beginning to regret this decision. I do have a small fan heater and a small oil-filled radiator but these of of no use when I use Aires (etc) without an electric hook-up.

I am interested in getting a diesel heater fitted to my van and I would like help in deciding what is the best way to go about this work.

Are there different types/sizes of heater and, if so, which is best for my van?

Where should it be fitted?

Where could I get it fitted? - I live in St Neots, Cambs

What is a ball-park figure for the cost?

Many thanks

Fitted for about a grand and it will go under the drivers seat either inside the van or just underneath.
Try Vanworx on Portland in the South or M&CS on the Forum, he is up in Manchester. They fitted my Eberspacher and I would recommend them to anybody.
Hope this helps

Mines fitted in the 'dead space' between the drivers seat base and the B pillar. You need the skills of a gyneacologist to install it as the connections are under the crossmember but it works well and leaves under the seats free...

Given that (as far as I know) Eberspacher and Webasto are roughly the same price, I'd go for the latter, as it will look original in a Bilbos conversion. I've now had both makes, and they are both excellent heaters.

If you put it under the driver's seat it needs to be as close to the centre line of the van as possible - otherwise the outlet will point at the side of the fridge housing, rather than into the van living space.

If you need pictures of an original Webasto install in a Celex, let me know.

Probably in the wrong the spot here but does this advice work for T4's too. I've just got a new to me van (originally transporter now fitted as a caravelle) with all windows. I will freeze when I head to the snow this winter without some of the good forum advice:)

thank you

Thought that was probably the case but you never know! If it went under the drivers seat is it possible to have a leisure battery in a seat with swivel base? Just want to keep the van empty if possible with a removable seat leaving no battery etc. thanks for any help, much appreciated.

Hi
Due to having my units along the seat backs, I have ruled out have the heater under my drivers seat or under the van as I will not be able to run the heat vent. Was wondering if I could install the heater at the back of the van under my bed and outlet the pipes through there? My concern would be be if the wiring loom long enough to reach the batter and the back of the van? Need to get this sorted ASAP because I am using the van in Scotland this year a couple of times to go snowboarding
