Drive Away Awning fitting

Hi all - I have just bought a T4 Caravelle camper conversion and am looking for a good driveaway awning and the best way to attach to the van without having to fit a gutter rail onto the side of the van

I have seen a glue-on rail fitted within the roof gully (a hook on awning rail) - Has anyone had any experience with these or other suggestions? What are your thoughts on throw-over straps for fitting awning?

Any good recommendations on driveaway awnings? Looking for something that is easy to erect, takes up little space when packed away, and with optional inner tent

Many thanks

Wayne

Hi Wayne
I got a C rail from a local caravan shop ÂŁ10 or so, glued it in the roof gutter with tiger seal ( a good thread on here about attaching awnings) awning is a vango sapera air beam which is expensive but amazing - Up in 15 mins and has an internal bedroom - no poles, has a sewn in kador strip, I got 3 x 1 metre figure 8 strips and another length of kador strip and jobs a good un. Easy to drive away and reattached (mark the ground where the driver side front wheel is before you drive off).
Off to France this weekend for 2 weeks to give it some proper use:cool:

Thanks everyone for your advice - I have decided on a Vango Kela drive-away awning with the throw-over straps as, with a toddler, it looks like the most easiest non-time-consuming option (after trying to set up just a windbreak at the weekend I've realised that poles and toddlers do not go well together). First use will be at Dubs in The Forest at the end of the month so fingers crossed :)
