Engine mount conundrum

Hi there my old T4 engine mount is leaking oil and the rubber bushings has gone on the left side (looking from inside the cab.)
The engine is a late model 2.5 tdi engine code ACV and according to sales description of a dedicated vw parts supplier the oem is 7D0399107AL and the right side (left side when looking at the front of the engine) is 7D0199132E.
I've removed the original unit only to find it's nearly 2cm taller than the replacement and carries the same part number but ending in the letter D.
I still managed to squeeze it in though.
Question is can the shorter mount still be safe to use seeing as the engine is must now be almost 2cm higher on the left side (timing belt) than before?

That's why I'm confused and the reason for this posting.
My engine is late model ACV manual gearbox code is AFK and the mounting "should" be 7D0199132E but when I removed the old one it's "D" not "E" and the height difference made it difficult to install.
I heard there's a way to "adjust" the drive shaft bearing clamp to compensate but I couldn't find any more details.
