Mine is male on the end of my lead, plugs into campsites female.

 

If they were male at the campsite, there is a danger of electrocution

Van should have male connector on it.

 

yeah i've got to change it over, my mates a sparky and shouted at me for it earlier.

Only used the female as it had a flap cover to stop stuff getting in it, will knock up a stick on cap for the male.

Because if it was a female connector, the cable you would be plugging in would be a male and the pins could be live, not a good idea!

 

NO, that's why it should be a female on the end of the cable and a male on the van

 

I don't get it... Let me get this straight..... You can plug your van in at a campsite??
