Marten chew and cut a rubber pipe

Hello, recently, during a periodical oil level check, i found a rubber pipe cut in two points. I guess that the guilty is a Marten. I am buying some repellent in tablet and i am thinking to buy an ultrasonic buzzer to detect further intrusion.
I have one question, the pipe is the pipe that open the EGR mechanical valve? The engine looks running normally, there is any possible damage? Do you know how to find that part? Is it an easy repair?

Yes that is the vacuum pipe that opens the EGR valve. The simplest way to fix it is go to a car parts shop with a section of the old pipe as a pattern. They can give you a length of the correct sized vacuum pipe and a suitable connector. There is no need for clips, vacuum pipe is push on fit only. You might be able to buy the whole pipe from VW but it is quite long so a simple repair is easiest ready for the next time the marten gets peckish!

Just buy a length of the correct tubing and cut to length.
Any car parts supplier should stock it.
Connectors also.
