Pop Tops and Driving Speeds

Thinking about getting a pop top/elevating roof fitted to my T4.

Done my research and have already chosen the Brand wanted.

Looked on the well known manufacturers and they advise max speed of 70 MPH.

What's other people's experiences? Got over taken by a T5 with a Pop Top the orher day, I was doing 85Mph and he flew past me, caught up at services and was chatting about his roof, he said he regularly drive at 90plus Mph, said the roof was noisy and some bouncing was evident.

I suggest he slowed down, his response wa "Nah, I'll get it replaced again under warranty"!!

Am I wrong in thinking this was his fault? Is he giving companies a bad reputation due to driving over 70Mph?

Views please.

Thanks

Yeh mines ok at all the above speeds even when I had roof box on aswell .T:
Think Gazagee must hold the record though in his 218bhp t5 I:
Gazagee factor, never considered that LOL:

Back to original question though, you and others may have done 80Mph plus, but what it is caused damage, would you expect manufacturer to replace even though there guidelines including Reimo ate set at 70?

If the straps fail and it's ripped off and strewn all over the motorway then i think a warranty claim will be futile....I:

At the end of the day its a leisure vehicle, why anyone would want to race round in a camper is beyond me..:*
Totally agree.

I was very surprised by the comments made to me by the T5 Driver, just never cared and thought any damage should be covered under warranty.
