PR Code Deciphering

I'm fairly new to my T4 and knew nothing about PR codes or their existance until recently - I must have led a sheltered life!

I have now found my PR codes in my quest to identify various parts. It's a relatively basic T4 yet there are 22 PR codes.

I tried the oemepc.com site and tried working back from the 1998 parts diagrams to see if it covered any of my PR numbers, but this is slow work and didn't identify my rear calipers, (but did so for my front ones).

How do I decipher my PR codes so that I know which PR code relates to which part of the van, (for example my rear brakes)?

It's raining so more research.............

Using this site: http://vag-codes.info/

I've found what most but not all of my PR Codes relate too, eg '1X0' stands for my 'front disk brakes'- but there are no VW Part Numbers provided, and so no practical means of identifying which master cylinder or calipers I have for example.

'1AB' is shown as 'Power Brake' - I wonder if this is the Servo?

I cannot find which of my PR numbers relate to my rear disc brakes, but as 8 of the codes are not recognised they may be one of these? Ditto the Starter Motor, Central Locking, and Power Steering are clear omissions..

The 8 unrecognised Codes (the '0's are zeros) are: B0N C7X G0C H5T J1D 0J3 0ZN 0G5

All very frustrating.

Can anyone please advise me how to proceed from here?

Thanks

re rear brakes, suggest you contact a VW dealer, or other VW parts supplier, armed with your VIN / chassis number, they should be able to help/ advise.
1LU and 2E2 are the PR codes for my van (front and rear brakes). not a 2.4 D like yours tho, although I know someone with one that might be same brake set up as yours, so could try and ask him.
