How about this idea, i've been trying to workout how to sleep 2-3 people and carry 2-3 bikes

Sleep on the floor, on cushions stored under load bay and from a bench seat that will fold up from the internal partition.
With some space between the two sections to store bedding/ gear and a leisure battery.
Bed is 6'3" tall and 1.22 m wide at narrowest part, and the bit where your feet goes is 35cm from the floor, which may require alteration depending upon cushion depth.
Thats assuming i can fit a full suss 29er in that way :ILU:

My effort.

Gotta thank iclickhappy for the shell. RIB, Smev and Vitrifrigo are pretty accurate in terms of manufacturers published dims.

I have the the fridge, hob and seat all as separate groups should anyone want them. They can also be found in the Sketchup warehouse for DL.

Me too. I've been getting into Autodesk Fusion 360. It's free to use for hobbyists if you sign up. Pretty powerful and can go deep with mechanisms and stress tests etc. Having got to where I am with that on other projects Sketchup seems like an unnecessary learning curve.

I did find the VW body converters database website (https://www.bb-database.com/en/transporter-t5-bis-2009) which has dxf and IGES models of some vans to download, mostly flatbeds it seems though, but I think also has an interior of the panel van but I can't get the damn files to open anywhere... I even downloaded an Autocad trial but they didn't work in that either.. They open but just show up blank.

Thanks for the .skp file.

I mocked up my new "sports mobile", a T5 factory high roof.
I mobile shower behind the driver seat and a 20L boiler and 42L wheel arch water tank on the right hand side.

Al the toys fit in with sleeping 1-3 persons (3th bed is above the lowest one) and there is access to a shower even when others stay in bed. Everything is removable expect for the hot water system

This is a great post, but im a bit concerned about the depth of the units in the plans, not that im copying, ive already done my conversion, and with my 3/4 R&R bed i've managed to just about squeeze in units that are 420mm depth, not the 483mm in the drawing. And when i say mines a snug fit, it really is snug, i've got 10mm tollorence.

So im just saying be weary of your R&R bed, as this is probably the factor, ive got head rests on mine which means the bed has to placed away from the sliding door side a touch to accomodate the extra height. My bed is from VanBeds by the way.

how thick is your insulation, mines uber think super quilt which has packed it out a touch, but it all adds up.

just sharing my experience, hope it makes you think before you make. Measure twice cut once and all that.
