Hi there

Having problems removing the sump on my t4. I've removed all of the bolts I can find, but still can't get it off
Anybody got any ideas as I need to re shell the bottom end and change the oil pump

A search will help as I know there's a good photo about but your main hidden ones are in the bellhousing between the engine and gearbox. If you follow the seal line you'll come across 2 small D shaped holes. If you rotate the crank pulley you'll see there's a notch in the flywheel and looking up the hole through the notch you'll see a bolt (you'll need a long allen key to reach it). Rotate the flywheel notch to line up with the other hole and repeat.
Then there's a couple of hard to see ones at the top rear of the engine on the passengers side. You'll need a crank necked ring spanner for one of them.

Hi there,
thanks for that. Yeah been trying to find a photo but not yet successful, and I can't find the two holes( should have gone to Specsavers) I have a 5 mm Allen key that is about 6 inches long, on a t handle. Do I Need to drop of gearbox mounts or anything else? Would be easier if it wasn't raining all the time and I wasn't laid under it on my driveway!!

I don't know if you need a new oil pump. I don't know why you were thinking of replacing it in the first place. The oil pump is located behind crank pulley and all the belts and shields need to be removed to get to it. You'll not be able to see it's condition from inside the sump.
