This is the bottom engine mount that I made up, using half the old mount.

I actually finished up the wiring this morning, and shes not running like a dream. Going to get her up on the ramp tomorrow, give her the once over then see how she drives :D

It doesn't fit straight in. I've mounted mine inside the cab a bit further back than the old one and welded the hole for the old shifter with only two holes for the cables. The shifter box itself is mounted to a frame I fabricated and welded to the floor so I didn't have to take the tank down to bolt it.

I'll get some pics for yas, been mega busy recently :)

I'm not sure about the Audi selector, but the 6 speed 02m has cable selectors and the old t4 boxes have a rod and lever set up. I figured it was easy enough to just fit the golf shifter box.

If anyone wants to know how I fitted anything or wants pictures of bits let me know. I kinda forgot about the build thread and just got on and finished it lol

I mounted my gearshift under the floor just enough room above the fuel tank.
Just drilled holes to take the mount .
Inside the van looks stock.
Obviously you need to extend the gearshift rod unless you got very long arms :D

Turns out that that there's nothing better than getting under it all and taking a look. The unit should fit, though it looks like a bit of drilling will be necessary.

I didn't need to make the opening any larger
Just make the holes to secure the gearshift at its mounting points.
I have a pic , but it's on pc at work
Let me know if you want it , , T:
At least the weather is better for playing vans

A pic would be awesome, but it makes sense. With the old shift mechanism out (and destroyed!) I'm almost committed.

Once I have the shifter solution figured, I'll definitely be welding a section of the old gear stick to the 02M shifter.

Pic of gearshift if any help T:
I left the studs in the floor so the stock gearshift lever cover can be fitted

Aha! It's a TT shifter with the offset. All the same bar the offset and the threaded end. I wonder if the thread is the same as the T4 thread (that would be a touch if so, all that would be required is a short length of rod to extend it).

I imagine it probably works better with the T4 as the original shifter has a bit of a 'lean' to it.

I'm still amiss as how you've managed to rotate it 90 degrees...
