You could try fuses SC28 & S37 if they are on your vehicle.
Fuse box SC is the lower of the two fuse boxes below the gear lever/ash tray.
S37 is a fuse attached to a relay carrier somewhere behind the dash panel. Sorry, not sure of it's exact location, but I would guess either central area or driver's side area low down.

I know its a bit late to respond, but I have been going through the same hoops for a while and getting similarly perplexed.

My electric driver and passenger door packed up at the same time. i have an 08 2.5 Transporter, auto box and air conditioning. Everything else worked so I set about looking for a blown fuse. Couldnt find one anywhere. I searched forums including this one to no avail. Im not a complete numpty when it comes to electrickery but this was driving me nuts. I asked people who I thought should know and got advice like "Its probably the ECU" and "you need an auto electrician".

Anyway, today I decided to get it sorted. I got the handbook out first to re confirm the location of all fuse boxes and relevant fuses. In the handbook it said if auto close didnt work then to re set it "close all doore and from outside lock the drivers door with the key and hold the key in the locked position for at least a second".

It worked, both windows now operate properly. The solution wasnt clear in the handbook as it is described as re setting the auto close, not re setting the full electric windo functionality!

Anyway, I thought T would post so I may help someone. I have been using the van without the windows working noe for about six months, the hot weather finaly pushed me to try again.

Off to buy a lottery ticket now :)

Yesterday, 19.08.17, in Tallinn Estonia, it worked again!

Many thanks for posting this!

I have the same problem with both electric windows not working. My van is a 2001 T4, 2.5 with and ACV motor. I tried Traveller's suggestion of locking the drivers door etc. This did not work for me.

Any other suggestions please? upspex mentioned that "the thermal fuse is located by the BCM behind the lower dash on the drivers side" What's the BCM?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated as this is driving me potty!.

Hi, had the same issue on my vw Cali 2006 after I (corr. my wife) left the passenger window over a rainy night. Drove 13 hours back home over mountain passes with open window :D
A free tip from the workshop did the trick: pop off the door trim (I just popped off the top part where the switch is mounted) and dry with gentle heat. Did that over night and both window and mirror worked again the next morning :)

Well after changing the CCM and soldering a new bit of wire under the drivers seat, my drivers window still worked when it wanted to, and passenger never worked at all.

So I decided to strip back the rubber boot between the drivers door and cab, then strip back the wiring, and right away I spotted a broken Brown (2 into 1) wire!

Soldered a new bit in there and ta da! drivers window now works fine, but on checking the passenger side nothing broken, and still no passenger side window working

Can't even find the correct part number for a new regulator on-line! but at least I fixed One side for now ;)

It’s behind your headlight switch, set to middle position push in slightly then you can remove the unit the rest is trim and screws but you need to remove this first to get in, you will see the relays and fuses behind there, can’t believe this is a vw forum and not one person has added this.

Its unusual for the CL to fail at the same time it just stops working when you unplug the module, have a look at the comfort module under the drivers seat they can get pretty corroded and also stop things working, however there have been lots of failures of this type recently my own included i guess it may be an age thing, skodas and polos of the same era use the same units but check the plugs are identical and the HW number matches.
The passenger one normally works again once the drivers is done, there is a guy on the Polo forums will fix them if savable a member had it done recently

I’ve just used Pete (the guy from the Polo forum) I live on the south coast and had family business in the North West today, after an exchange of messages I dropped my module at his workshop in Oxfordshire on the way up and picked it up this evening repaired! Fitted it in my van and hay presto windows and CL working again! I didn’t see him as I dropped it at 05.30 and picked it up from a stash after he’d finished (I had paid him online) He kept me informed and sent pics through the day regarding the board (water damage). I can’t recommend him enough!!
