Can't see why it wouldn't work, depending on which engine you have. It probably won't do everything vagcom will, but for general fault coding reading it should be fineT:

Its a 2003 (early).

Those vagcom cables are very cheap, whats the catch?
Do I need to buy a computer to use it?? Or perhaps a house!

No catch really.You just need a laptop to run the software on.

You can download an unregistered version that has limited functions for free, but will still let you see fault codes. Or you can pay $99 to register and unlock the rest of the functions.

Sounds like a no-brainer, ill go with the vagcom. Not sure what benefits the other diagnostics computer has...

I work with computers so that should not be a problem.
