Yes you can fit a Catch Tank T:

Removing the EGR & Fitting a Catch Tank will reduce inlet charge contamination from Oil and Soot
Thanks for that :)

Have you fitted the oil cooler yet mate? I found a good one on ebay that looked similar to the one in your golf with the filter relocation etc, 135 pounds, is that a reasonable price for a 12 row one?

Nice acceleration, what rpm are you at when doing 80mph? I have the AAB engine Twin cab pick up, do you think this has the same gearbox as yours, I reckon mine might be an even lower gear ratio?

Cheers

Update, the exhaust manifold came today from germany and another member has PM me with all the other parts needed, turbo and inlet etc :D

Which would be better Brookster, the EGR, or EGR with oil catch can? Would you need a catch can if you had an EGR fitted?

Cheers

The EGR has nothing to do with the Oil Breather apart from they both vent back into the intake manifold.

So EGR is blanked off

and Oil Breather is vented into the catch can T:

The Oil Cooler will be fine with a 12row you won't need the remote Filter on your conversion, i only need it because the Volvo downpipe is abit close to the Water cooled Oil Cooler I:

I've just got some exhaust heat wrap for the down pipe to protect the oil cooler .

Forgot to ask if there is the space in the engine bay to use this kit and how is the oil conversion going, do you notice any difference in perfomance?

Cheers Jerry
You can use your existing Manifold flange off the 2.4D and a silicone Elbow it will have the same effect.

Haven't fitted the oil cooler conversion yet , all it will do is reduce the Temperatures won't make any difference to performance but will keep the engine in better condition. T:

Sorry should have said Veg Oil conversion. Is there any noticeable difference between the VEG and Diesel? My old man is friends with the owner of a chinese take away near him, and if the oil he cooks with is suitable, I am thinking of doing the conversion some time. What oil are you using?

Cheers

It might need replacing more often but a ÂŁ10 i'm not too concerned, sprayed it with lots of Filter Oil anyway .

Turbo spins up alot quiker with the better airflow .

well all went well i have got a vid and a print out which i will try and get up tomorrow as for the all important figures

in standard for the van is 77BHP and 121 foot pound torque
and now 97.2 BHP but more important 174 foot pound torque and running max 1.3 bar boost EGT no higher than 350

Mole is that running the acv turbo?

I was expecting you to say that sort of bhp at the wheels not the flywheel, though
like you say the torque is well improved and numbers don't exactly always count for how performance gains feel.

Hi Mole,

Congratulations Pal!

Are you using the standard exhaust system with those figures?

Cheers

Nice result do you have a copy of the print out .

What RPM was the max Torque & BHP

Considering you have a standard injection pump with no LDA you must be happy with that figure T:

EGT's are low
