Hey,
I know the egr blanking has been discussed widely, but need clarity please.
Let me let you what i have done and then i will ask questions.
>Blanked off both side of the pipe between the egr valve and exhaust manifold and reoved the pipe.
>I then removed the vacuum pipe fro the anti-shudder valve and screwed a bolt into the end of the vacuum pipe to blank.
>The vacuum pipe to the egr valve is still connected.
So the questions:
I understand the blanking and the benifit there of, but do not uderstand why this is resulting in worse fuel economy. My mind tells me that if the engine is breathing clear air it should be more efficient and give better fuel economy.
Is there something i did'nt do and still need to do? What do is do with the vacuum pipes to and from the n75(if that is what it's called) control unit?
Fyi: i am planning to remove the egr valve altogether and inserting an straight pipe, how will this affectthe piping to and from the control unit?
Plese help, as fuel economy is top of my list and if needed the do without te little increase in torque to get the econoy back.
